AutoTailor is a Chrome extension that analyzes job postings and helps tailor your CVs. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information.

Information We Collect

We collect minimal information to provide our service:

• Account Information: Email address and authentication details managed securely by Clerk
• Local Storage: Your CVs, job postings, and preferences are stored locally in your browser's Chrome storage
• Analytics Data: Only with your consent, we collect anonymised usage data (pages visited, features used, plan type) to understand how the product is used and improve it. We never collect the content of your CV, cover letters, or job descriptions.

How We Use Your Data

• All CV and job posting processing happens locally in your browser
• Your documents never leave your device and are not accessible to us
• Analytics data (collected only with your consent) is used solely to improve the product — we never use it for advertising or sell it to third parties
• We do not sell, share, rent, or transfer your personal information to third parties

Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal data based on the following legal bases under GDPR:

• Contractual necessity – to provide the AutoTailor service when you create an account.
• Legitimate interest – to maintain and improve the service.
• Consent – for analytics cookies and anonymised usage data collected through PostHog.

Third-Party Services

• Clerk: Handles authentication securely. We do not store or access your login credentials
• Lemon Squeezy: Processes payments and manages subscriptions securely
• PostHog: Analytics platform used only with your consent. Data is stored on European servers located in Frankfurt, Germany and is never used for advertising. Resume content, CV text, and sensitive data are never sent to PostHog. You can withdraw consent at any time by declining cookies in the banner.

Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies only with your explicit consent. When you accept cookies, we use PostHog to collect anonymised analytics (pages visited, features used, plan type). When you decline, no analytics cookies are set.

We never track the content of your documents — your CV text, job descriptions, and cover letters remain entirely private.

• We retain account information only as long as necessary to provide the service.
• Analytics data collected through PostHog is anonymised and retained according to PostHog's standard data retention policies.
• Documents such as CVs and job postings are stored locally in your browser and are never transmitted to our servers.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, update, or delete your account information at any time. Since your CVs and documents are stored locally, you have complete control over them through your browser. You may also withdraw analytics consent at any time by refreshing the page and declining the cookie banner.
